Danbury is like a miniature play with three characters: the insistent piano, the temperamental cello, and the peacemaking violin. It gets its name from Danbury, Wisconsin - the small town where Spencer has spent many summers at the lakeside cabin his great-grandfather built in 1940 (pictured below). Although Danbury's musically peaceful ebb and flow may evoke a variety of natural settings, Spencer imagines this piece's characters walking down a remote forest path in Danbury. Well-suited for recitals, competitions, and concerts.
